I read this article today that reminded me of the comparison of the number of bugs of FOSS vs. closed source systems. I think I read somewhere that Firefox and IE had the same number of bugs last year.
Imagine two 3-story houses. In the first house, you can enter and stay as long as you want. You can even look at the drawings from the engineer, the plumber, the electrician. You can move around furniture to see what’s under it. You can enter any room you want. After thoroughly examining this house, you find 10 problems.
In the second house, you can only look through some of the windows. After looking through these windows, you find 9 problems with it (1 less than the other house!).
Which house would you buy for your family to live in?
